Latoya Tolefree
Dr. Latoya Tolefree comes to us from Dunwoody Springs Elementary where she served as a Math instructional coach, STEM Lab Coordinator and Early Intervention Teacher. She has served Fulton County Schools for the past 17 years, teaching at Renaissance Elementary School and Renaissance Middle School.
As an instructional coach, Dr. Tolefree engaged students through creative lessons, built strong relationships, and implemented differentiated instruction - all work that was recognized by colleagues and administrators, solidifying her reputation as a leader in the classroom. In addition, as a STEM lab coordinator, Dr. Tolefree enhanced the integration of STEM curriculum across the school. She was instrumental in developing hands-on, inquiry-based learning opportunities, igniting curiosity and problem-solving skills in her students. Her forward-thinking approach to STEM education played a key role in shaping the school’s science, technology, engineering, and mathematics integration.
Furthering her expertise, Dr. Tolefree earned a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Mercer University. Her academic journey deepened her passion for improving educational practices and advocating for exceptional learning experiences for all students. With a wealth of experience in the classroom and beyond, Dr. Tolefree's career is a reflection of her belief that when teachers grow, students thrive, and communities succeed.
