Julie Godfrey

I began my teaching career in 1999 after earning both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Middle Grades Science Education from the University of Florida. In 2014, I earned an Educational Specialist degree in Instructional Technology from Kennesaw State University to continue growing as an educator.

For over 20 years, I had the privilege of teaching science across all grade levels at Northwestern, working with students of all abilities. Beyond the classroom, I’ve been fortunate to serve our school community in a variety of roles, including Professional Learning Facilitator, Science Department Chair, Instructional Coach, ESOL Contact, and Testing Coordinator. I believe that education is most powerful when we work together—students, teachers, and families—as partners in learning. In every role, my goal has always been to support both students and teachers as they grow and reach their full potential.

I live in Cherokee County with my husband, Tim, and our two children, Reagan (12) and Evan (10). In my free time, I enjoy baking, hiking, fishing, traveling, and spending time with my family.

  • I'm honored to continue working alongside the NMS community, and I’m excited for all that this school year will bring.
